Fig. 1.  Above photo shows the large gull next to a 1CY Herring Gull. Note the very large size of the gull in question, which is on the right. This large size and dark mantle is what first caught our attention.

 In the remaining photos below, our 2CY gull is next to a juvenile Lesser Black-backed Gull.
